Setup
1. At the start of the game roll the dice, highest
dice roll selects a Sector first. (See pages
2 & 3 of the Rule Book for Sectors that
you may choose for 2-6 players.)
2. Place your starships on any space in your
Sector and your stargate bases and one combat
unit on all star systems in your Sector. (See
pages 2 & 3 of the Rule Book for number
of starships allowed.)
3. Roll the dice again; highest dice roll begins
play, with other player turns taken from the
left of the first player.
Phases
of Play - each player completes the following
3 phases in order:
1. Building & Placement of New Combat Units
and Starships
A. Star Systems -
for each stargate base on a star system you
build 1 combat unit or exchange 5 combat units
for 1 starship. (You are limited to 2 combat
units on each stargate base or starship - otherwise
you must place them next turn.)
B. Sectors - in
addition, for each Sector you control (have
your stargate bases in ALL star systems within
Sector) you will build 1 starship, except A
Sector which builds 2. (You are limited to 1
starship on each stargate base - otherwise you
must place them next turn.)
2. Movement
A. Starships -
each moves up to 3 spaces in each turn. Only
1 starship is permitted on a space. Starships
may move through spaces with starships of the
same fleet, but not through spaces with enemy
starships. If an enemy stargate base has no
combat units or starships defending it then
you may simply move onto the base, remove it
and replace it with your own.
If the star system has no stargate base on it
then move on it, place your stargate base and
stay there for that turn. ( Wormholes - a starship
moving onto a space containing a wormhole is
transported to the wormhole on the opposite
side of the universe.)
B. Combat Units -
a. Boarding Starships -
- by either building and placing them onto your
starship or
- moving the starship onto a space with your
stargate base, picking the combat units up and
continuing movement with the starship.
b. Travel through Stargates of same fleet (or
to enemy stargates with Stargate SG-1 Cards
which allow you to).
C. Stargate SG-1 Cards
- receive 1 card for each new stargate
base you placed on the board at the end of your
turn. Use as many Stargate SG-1 Cards anytime
during your movement phase, exception - Iris
Card - playable anytime! (follow what the cards
tell you). You may trade Cards, make treaties
and if you take any enemy fleet's last piece
you take all their Cards.
3. Attacking
A. Starships -
Each starship may attack once per turn. Starships
can only attack starships. Move your starships
onto a space adjacent to (touching) a space
with an enemy starship, roll the dice, highest
dice roll wins, and removes the defeated starship
from the board. If the defending starship was
on an enemy stargate base then the Attacker
may advance onto the space previously occupied
by the defeated defending starship. If there
are no enemy combat units defending the stargate
base, the stargate base is removed and Attacker
places its stargate on the star system.
If enemy combat units are defending the stargate
base, then Attacker may then land its combat
units to attack those enemy combat units otherwise,
if Attacker has no combat units to land, then
Attacker can not take the stargate base.
B. Combat Units -
Combat units may only attack combat units. But,
combat units may board enemy starships with
Stargate SG-1 cards, attack and, if successful,
take control of the starship, remove it and
replace it with your own starship.
Your
combat units have traveled either by starship
or stargate to an enemy stargate base or starship.
If an enemy stargate base or starship has no
combat units on it you simply remove the enemy
and place your own stargate base or starship
on the star system. If the enemy stargate base
or starship has combat units then you must attack.
Roll the dice.
The number of the dice to roll is determined
by the number of combat units, for example,
if both attacker and defender have 2 combat
units then both will roll 2 dice. Highest dice
roll wins and remove defeated combat units from
the board. However, in case of a tie, the defender
wins. Also, you must continue to attack until
you have eliminated all enemy combat units or
you are defeated. Winner takes the stargate
base or starship.
